This year, OFN's Advocacy Day will take place on May 16-17, 2017. During Advocacy Day, your voice is needed to make the case to members of Congress and Administration officials about the importance of funding for the CDFI Fund, the industry, and our communities. Click here to register now!

OFN's Advocacy Day is open to all OFN Members and CDFI Allies. OFN will schedule your meetings and prepare all the advocacy training and materials you will need for an effective day on Capitol Hill.

During your meetings, we ask you to share your stories about how your CDFIs or CDFI partnerships have provided access to capital where it is most needed. You will meet legislators, Administration officials, and their staff, helping them better understand why our industry is so vital to the well-being of communities across the country.

Advocacy Day kicks off the evening of May 16 as we host our annual Congressional Awards reception on the Hill from 5:00–7:00pm. On May 17, participants will meet for a brief advocacy training, pick up their materials, and then head to the Hill to meet with policymakers from 8:00am–6:00pm. Last year, participants attended more than 100 meetings on the Hill with members of Congress and their staff from both sides of the aisle; meetings at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and at the Federal Housing Finance Agency; and a briefing with the Office of Management and Budget. We value your time and expertise and there is no registration fee for this event. However, for the event to be a success we do require the following:

  • Join our planning webinar to learn key messaging points
  • Participate in an advocacy training the morning of May 17
  • Attend all scheduled meetings with your policymakers and their staff

We hope you will join us in Washington, DC on May 16-17 to continue building bipartisan support for our industry! Click here to register for Advocacy Day.
