Ahead of Advocacy Day, OFN honors Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Chris Coons (D-DE) and Representatives Jamie Herrera Beutler (R-WA) and Keith Ellison (D-MN) with OFN's Congressional Champion Award for their commitment to policies that further economic development and job creation in disinvested communities across the country.

OFN continues to work with legislators to garner support for federal policies that create jobs; spark small business growth; deliver quality, affordable housing; and create community facilities, including charter schools and healthcare centers.

Senator John Boozman (R-AR) is a tireless advocate for the farming and retail sectors in Arkansas and for military veterans in his state. The senator's leadership on the Senate Appropriations Committee has enabled the CDFI Fund to continue delivering critical financing to qualified CDFIs.

Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) has been committed to advancing common-sense solutions to our nation's biggest problems. The senator has been a champion for job creation in his state and across the country, notably through his support for the Manufacturing Jobs for America initiative, a program that will modernize the nation's manufacturing sector, create good quality jobs, and provide critical training.

Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) has long supported efforts to create jobs and protect small businesses. During her first term in Congress, Beutler introduced a bill to increase opportunities for small businesses in the federal contracting process. She is committed to finding solutions that will help restart the economy and put people back to work in her home district of Southwest Washington.

Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) is co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which works to promote economic justice. Ellison has also worked to reduce the negative effects of payday lenders. He recently introduced legislation to enable CDFIs to strengthen and expand their investments in Minneapolis-St. Paul and around the country.
