Lisa Mensah, President and CEO of OFN, was awarded the NeighborWorks Friend of Rural Award on April 18 at a national forum in Memphis, titled Hope in the Delta, Turning the Tide on Persistent Rural Poverty. NeighborWorks President and CEO Paul Weech and Hope Credit Union CEO Bill Bynum joined David Dangler, Director of Rural Initiatives at NeighborWorks, on stage to present the award.
The award, one of only six given on Tuesday evening, recognized Lisa's extraordinary vision of what is possible in and for rural America.
In reflecting on the award, Lisa said, “I was deeply touched by the award. It was a lovely tribute and a nice moment to celebrate an OFN partnership with NeighborWorks. It is my deep pride and joy to fight for rural America and all America. My role at OFN is a great chance to continue the good fight to bring capital to underinvested places and people in need.”
