On November 20, the Senate Committee on Appropriations released the FY18 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill and explanatory statements. The bill preserves full funding for the CDFI Fund at $248 million. The House version of this bill sets funding for the CDFI Fund at $190 million. Congress is back in session next week and will only have two-weeks to reach a budget deal for FY18. As Members of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees reconcile their bills, they need to hear from our network, CDFI borrowers, and industry partners as to how CDFIs invest in their communities and why funding for the CDFI Fund should be preserved. To assist you in your advocacy efforts, OFN has prepared a toolkit that includes talking points, Congressional offices contact information, and twitter handles for Appropriators.
