Comcast Announces $5 million Grant Program for BIPOC-owned Small Businesses
Comcast has announced the next element of Comcast RISE – the Comcast RISE Investment Fund. This $5 million grant program will provide 100 individual $10,000 grants to eligible Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC)-owned small businesses in each of the following five U.S. cities, totaling 500 grants: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Houston, TX; and Philadelphia, PA.
The program is designed to help BIPOC-owned small businesses grow as they navigate the challenges of the pandemic. Applications open March 1, 2021, and close March 14, 2021. Businesses must be in the following geographic locations to be eligible: Atlanta, GA (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties); Chicago, IL (Cook County including the City of Chicago); Detroit, MI (also including Hamtramck and Highland Park, MI); Houston, TX (Harris and Fort Bend Counties); and Philadelphia, PA (City of Philadelphia and City of Chester.)
Additionally, Comcast RISE offers the opportunity for businesses across the country to apply for marketing and technology services from Comcast Business and Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable.
