Former LIIF President & CEO Nancy Andrews Publishes Paper on Race, Gender, and Equity in Community Development
Former Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) President & CEO Nancy O. Andrews recently published a paper entitled “Race, Gender and Equity in Community Development: Top 10 Findings, 6 Ways Forward,” which summarizes how 15 leaders of community development finance organizations are intensifying their focus on race, gender, and equity. The paper also provides a prescription for change.
“We need to collaborate and work together to build on these ideas and figure out strategies that work,” Andrews shared in a recent Q&A with the Urban Institute. “It’s also urgent that we gather new evidence about what works and incorporate that evidence into our theory of change and day-to-day work.”
Winner of OFN’s 2018 Ned Gramlich Lifetime Achievement Award for Responsible Finance, Andrews has helped shape federal policy and capital programs for CDFIs throughout her career, with programs including the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s CDFI Fund, New Markets Tax Credit, Capital Magnet Fund, and more.
