New Awards Program Honors Native CDFIs
Seth Julyan
Nationwide, Native CDFIs help tribal communities overcome barriers to economic development and capital access. Led and run by tribal members, nearly 70 Native CDFIs across the U.S. provide a broad range of financial services and products that build individual assets and community wealth in Indian country. It’s time to celebrate them!
Wells Fargo, First Nations Oweesta, and OFN are proud to announce the Native CDFI Awards, a new three-year program to uplift the innovative and impactful work of Native CDFIs.
On October 21, 2019, at the OFN Annual Conference in Washington D.C., we will celebrate two Native CDFIs for their work to create opportunity and advance self-sovereignty measures and strategies that promote local efforts for community asset building within their tribal communities.
- The Native CDFI Catalyst Award will provide a $100,000 grant to one Native CDFI that presents the most compelling application supporting plans to execute on their potential strategy.
- The Native CDFI Seed Capital Award will provide a $25,000 grant to one Native CDFI to support a strategy with great potential.
The Awards Guidelines and application links are available on the OFN website. Applications will be accepted until July 26, 2019, 5 PM EST.
