Through their Ours to Own initiative, Calvert Foundation provides a space for local residents to own and invest in the future of their community. While piloting this intiative, Calvert Foundation used Ours to Own funding in partnership with the Urban Land Conservancy (ULC) to finance the Social Enterprise Foundry in Denver's Sun Valley. The site employs nearly 150 people in jobs that support Denver's sustainability efforts.

ULC has invested an additional $600,000 in capital improvements at the Foundry in order to create a healthier and more vibrant environment for this new community asset in Sun Valley, a Denver neighborhood which historically has seen very little economic development. These investments will provide the Foundry’s workers with healthier living options in and around their office.
