Crystal’s Candidate Statement

Hello! My name is Crystal German (she/her) and I’m a senior leader at Self-Help in our North Carolina headquarters. The work that the Opportunity Finance Network has done over its forty-years is history making and I would be honored to serve, as I have served my communities over the years, as a new board member.

Driven by the belief that systems work exactly as they have been designed, and for the people who have designed them, I have dedicated most of my life to doing systems change work. I am excited about OFN’s prospects and inspired by its plans to advance its impact and believe my skills, knowledge and experience can be of service to the OFN board and membership. I have ideas but no formal agenda. OFN has served as a place to connect with like-minded people, providing a platform of collective action and an articulation of the needs of the movement.
