The stark contrast of the current economic plight of the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago versus my childhood memories of this once economically vibrant neighborhood motivates me. Now Englewood’s residents’ life expectancy is 60 years versus the more affluent Streeterville neighborhood’s residents’ life expectancy of 90 years. More money. More life.
