Kairat’s Candidate Statement

I am deeply honored to be nominated for a position on the OFN Board. This recognition reflects the unwavering support I have received from my board members and fellow OFN members, including Charter Schools Development Corporation (CSDC), Partners for the Common Good (PCG), and River City Capital, for which I am sincerely grateful.

My name is Kairat Mavlyankulov, and I am the Chief Executive Officer of Charter School Finance and Development (CSFD), an emerging nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). At CSFD, our mission is to foster community development by financing public charter school facilities in low-income, educationally, and economically distressed neighborhoods, particularly those serving at-risk student populations or in underperforming districts. Our services include providing flexible loans and technical assistance that facilitate the acquisition, construction, renovation, expansion, and leasehold improvements of educational facilities. As CEO, I oversee all organizational operations, lending initiatives, strategic planning, consulting services, and development activities. Additionally, I serve as the Board Chair of the Future Institute, an organization dedicated to supporting high school students at charter schools in their transition to college, encouraging persistence, and enhancing career readiness.
