Stephanie Yates

Stephanie earned her Ph.D. in Finance from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is also an Accredited Financial Counselor®, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and a Registered Financial Consultant.® In 2004, Stephanie became the first director of the Hickey Financial Technology Center at Siena College in Loudonville, New York. From 2005-2006, Stephanie served as a clinical assistant professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 2007, Stephanie joined the faculty of the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned tenure there in 2012. From 2014 to present, Stephanie has been actively involved in building, growing, and maintaining the UAB Regions Institute for Financial Education. She has published her research in journals such as Financial Management the International Real Estate Review, the Journal of Investing, the Journal of Personal Finance, the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, and the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate. She has also consulted with both non-profit and for-profit entities in the areas of finance and accounting. Stephanie has received awards for her contributions, served on numerous committees and given several invited speeches.
