Lindsay Snowden served seven years as a field nurse in the U.S. Army, and upon discharge, continued her nursing career for an additional 15 years. During that time, she developed an interest in carpentry and started working as a part-time contractor. After learning the craft, she decided to start her own construction business. In 2017, Lindsay launched Purpose Driven Contractors LLC, specializing in finish carpentry for residential properties.
Like many other contractors, however, she soon faced a gap between contract award and payment receipt and turned to Community First Fund for financing. Community First Fund was able to provide her with a loan in 2018 to support the business’s cash flow. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Lindsay turned to Community First Fund again for support with a PPP loan.
Based in Harrisburg, PA, Purpose Driven is a licensed Minority Business Enterprise, Women’s Business Enterprise, and holds a Veteran-owned designation. These certifications are instrumental in Lindsay’s ability to bid on potential contracts for redevelopment projects funded by government tax credit and revitalization programs.
