Summary

Who we are seeking:

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to provide accounting and regulatory work for various programs, and to work with the Director or Accounting, Senior Accounting Supervisor and Program Managers to ensure accurate and timely budgeting and reporting for assigned programs.

You have experience preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring all funds are balanced.

You can provide guidance and knowledge during the grant proposal stage, and you can ensure compliance with grant requirements and any applicable federal or state regulations.

You have a passion for contributing to CEI’s mission of lifting businesses and communities.

Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will be:

You will be responsible for internal and external reporting and analysis for assigned programs.

You will work on program budget development and monitor results to ensure budgetary variance analysis and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

You will manage financial and compliance reporting for federal, state and private grants/funds.

You will provide accounting and regulatory support to program managers and others for grant proposals.

You will support financial and regulatory audits as needed.

Requirements

Preferred candidates will have:

Three years of relevant experience.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Education may be substituted for experience.

Nonprofit or fund/grant accounting experience preferred.

Experience with budget preparation and control, compliance, management, and financial reporting.

Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office systems.

Team player attributes and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

A detail-oriented quality, and emphasis on accuracy.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time 40-hour-per-week, exempt position with excellent benefits and generous time off. The posting range is $68,000 – $75,000. We work in a hybrid model, two days in the office (usually Tuesday and Thursday), and three days at home. This position is based out of our headquarters in Brunswick, ME.
