Summary

The Junior Mortgage Loan Originator works closely with the Welcome Home Loan Team to increase the production of mortgage loans for manufactured homes and other single-family housing loan products. This is a critical role in Single Family Housing for an energetic and talented individual. Bi-lingual fluency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Loan Originators to attract new loan applications by developing relationships and outreach with manufactured home buyers, realtors, retailers, other lenders, and resident-owned community leaders.
  • Respond to loan applicants and inquiries regarding loan products promptly and efficiently, in accordance with New Hampshire Community Loan Fund’s policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Originators to collect financial information in order to prepare the loan file and assist the applicants with loan applications.
  • Evaluate loan requests, including collecting required documents, verifying applicant information, ordering and analyzing credit reports to establish creditworthiness, and calculating repayment ability.
  • Maintain accurate and complete borrower application files.
  • Attend community events to promote the NH Community Loan Fund.
  • Participate in research and development of new loan products and process improvements serving single family housing needs in accordance with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Understand and implement state and federal regulations for mortgage lending.
  • Collaborate with the Welcome Home Loan Team and realtors on behalf of the applicant as needed to deliver high quality and prompt customer service to applicants, borrowers and community partners.
  • Possess the intention to complete a training program to obtain their NMLS license within 6 months.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines including fair lending and ethical behavior.
  • Perform other duties as required to advance Community Loan Fund strategies and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Liberal Arts or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Two years’ experience in residential or consumer mortgage lending, or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with loan amortization and loan origination software such as Byte Software.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office 2016 programs (Word, Excel, etc.), laptop computer, and navigating software remotely.

  • Ability to use a computer for Community Loan Fund business.
  • Ability to drive for Community Loan Fund business periodically.
  • Ability to lift at least five pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Salary:  $60,000

The Community Loan Fund’s current benefit package includes medical and dental coverage, group life and disability options, health, and Flexible Spending Accounts and our 401(k) Plan, upon completion of each plan’s eligibility requirements. These benefits are subject to modification at any time by the Community Loan Fund and will be reviewed with you in detail on your first day of employment.  We also offer accrued vacation and sick time, 11 Federal Holidays and four Floating Holidays.
