Summary

The Senior Associate, Communications, Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, supports communications for OFN’s activities under the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), particularly the Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA), in addition to the National Clean Investment Fund. Reporting to the VP, Strategic Communications, Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, this role assists in designing and executing all aspects of internal and external CCIA project communications. The Senior Associate helps develop high-quality content and reporting that informs audiences, elevates learning, and demonstrates impact. This position supports the promotion of project activities through key communication channels and engages critical partners, OFN members, and community stakeholders through strategic outreach and innovative communication practices.

Supervisor: Vice President, Strategic Communications, Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund

FLSA Status: Exempt

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across business units, particularly with the OFN Climate and Strategic Communications teams to support the project’s overall communications strategy (internal and external) and the development of high-quality communications products to meet project goals.
  • Execute project outreach campaigns through various digital and other platforms and channels: blog, website, social media, events, etc.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of project activities and deliverables specifically related to communication and outreach, including the CCIA community engagement strategy with low-income and disadvantaged communities and other market-building activities with clean energy contractors and workers.
  • Ensure team’s compliance with OFN’s procedures for outside vendors and consultants to support the execution of project communications.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Communications team, as well as outside vendors to ensure effective marketing and branding of CCIA events and workshops.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of public information materials.
  • Coordinate CCIA-related press and other media outreach in collaboration with Strategic Communications.
  • Provide communications support to other OFN departments, delivering high-quality content, communications products, and other deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 5-7 years of relevant work experience required in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience with integrated, multi-channel communications strategy and tactics is required.
  • Experience with editorial planning tools and marketing technologies such as Salesforce, WordPress, Sprout Social, and Asana a plus.
  • Experience with U.S. Government program communications a plus.
  • Experience working in a CDFI or nonprofit environment is desirable.

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Digital literacy to navigate workplace technology required.
  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 5% of time).
  • No extraordinary physical requirements beyond ability to travel.
  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
