Summary

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund has an immediate opening for an energetic, talented individual to fill a critical role in its housing program, “Resident Owned Communities New Hampshire” (“ROC-NH”). ROC-NH works with homeowners in and owners of manufactured-home parks statewide to convert those parks into communities that are owned and governed by residents, known as “resident owned communities” or “ROCs.” ROC-NH’s financing, educational and technical assistance help homeowners in resident-owned communities build equity, create stability, develop leadership and strengthen their communities. ROC-NH’s technical assistance services include acquisitions, training, project facilitation, and business and governance coaching.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Build resident skills by providing, encouraging coaching process. Guide community members toward participating In comprehensive educational and training programs offered at ROC-NH and ROC USA.
  • Utilize templates and policies to guide ROC cooperatives to business best practices.
  • Provide governance support and ROC management guidance to an assigned portfolio of ROCs, including but not limited to regularly attending board and membership meetings, helping ROC boards and members navigate and apply their governance documents, reviewing and filing ROC budgets and meeting minutes, capturing and updating Important ROC related information in internal records and databases, facilitating ROC self-assessments, connecting ROCs with external resources as appropriate, and being ROC-NH’s primary point of contact for the assigned portfolio of ROCs. Coaching and business guidance help ROCs build skills and to understand the roles and responsibilities necessary to effectively manage the ROC while fostering empowerment, community spirit, and self-sufficiency.
  • Support all aspects of community financial and loan compliance, including plans to assess organizational health, troubleshoot problems, and develop goals and action plans.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation in accordance with to program checklists to facilitate community financing. This includes but is not limited to proformas, corporate resolutions, loan requests, and credit memos.
  • Qualifications and Characteristics
    • Ability to creatively deliver business coaching in person and remotely, while encouraging, listening and having command of governing documents for each ROC cooperative. Enjoyment of an experiential learning environment with adult learners is essential. Comfortable thinking on your feet/problem solving, able to self-manage work-life balance, leadership, and enjoy helping others build their skills.  Sound decision making and organizational skills.  Ability to earn trust quickly, facilitate large meetings, identify needs and advance skills, with diplomacy and tact.  A team player. Valid driver’s license and ability to work nights and weekends.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skills and experience In public speaking, training, instruction and/or education
  • Ability to read and explain financial documents
  • Proficient In Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience In Salesforce a plus

Compensation and Benefits

  • Location: Concord, NH and hybrid (in office Tuesday and Wednesday)
  • Starting Salary:  $70,000
  • The Community Loan Fund’s current benefit package includes medical and dental coverage, group life and disability options, health, and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts and our 401(k) Plan upon completion of each plan’s eligibility requirements.  We also offer vacation and sick time, 11 Federal Holidays and 4 Floating Holidays.
