Summary

Want to join a smart, dedicated, diverse team addressing one of the greatest threats to our communities? OFN is seeking a talented individual to serve as our Senior Vice President, Data. The Senior Vice President, Data, will be a key leader within OFN, responsible for driving the organization’s data strategy, governance, and management.

This role will oversee the establishment and management of a data warehouse, ensure adherence to the EPA’s Terms and Conditions under the CCIA award, and uphold industry best practices. Additionally, the SVP will lead OFN’s business intelligence and data analytics efforts to support informed decision-making and strategic initiatives. The SVP will work closely with cross-functional teams, including staff within the Finance, Operations, Investment Services, Network Services, Strategy, Climate, Development & Capitalization, Public Policy, and the Office of the Chief Executive to execute its objectives.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with OFN’s mission and goals.
  • Establish and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Lead efforts to adhere to the EPA’s Terms and Conditions under the CCIA award and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, management, and protection of data.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across all platforms.
  • Implement data quality and cleansing initiatives to maintain high data standards.
  • Design, develop, and manage a scalable data warehouse to support OFN’s data needs across various functional teams.
  • Integrate data from various sources to provide a comprehensive view of organizational and industry-wide data.
  • Ensure the data warehouse supports efficient data retrieval and reporting.
  • Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence tools and dashboards.
  • Provide analytical insights to support strategic decision-making and performance measurement.
  • Oversee the generation of regular and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and lead a high-performing data and analytics team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to identify data needs and provide analytical support.
  • Engage with external partners and stakeholders to enhance data capabilities and insights.
  • Represent OFN in industry forums and contribute to the advancement of data practices in the sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, analytics, and business intelligence, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in establishing data strategy and governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
  • Understanding of metadata management, master data management, and data stewardship.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data integration, and database management.
  • Proven experience (typically 5 years) in designing, implementing, and managing data warehouse solutions.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Proficiency in tools and technologies such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Qlik).
  • Strong understanding of analytics, reporting, and dashboard creation.
  • Strong knowledge of process reengineering techniques, including process mapping and evaluating current and future state processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or equivalent, preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset  .
  • Proven experience building and managing a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to community development is highly beneficial.
  • Limited travel required <10%.
  • No extraordinary physical requirements beyond ability to travel.
  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
