Summary

OFN has an exciting management opportunity with our expanding accounting team. The Vice President, Grant Management and Compliance will manage and oversee a team that ensures OFN’s accounting operations are compliant with all regulatory, programmatic, and other grant requirements, including but not limited to, the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). This role will lead internal audits, develop grant budgets and reports, manage grant draws and play a critical role in establishing a culture of compliance throughout the organization. This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Actively ensure accounting policies and procedures adhere to federal principles and grant requirements including 2 CFR 200 and develop policies and procedures where necessary.
  • Monitor accounting operations to ensure they remain compliant with policies and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within the organization; collaborate and liaise with other departments including Investment Operations, Legal, etc. as needed.
  • Develop and lead internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to policies and procedures; lead planning for Single Audit.
  • Prepare written reports of compliance reviews, internal audits, and findings including specific recommendations for correction action where appropriate.
  • Serve as primary liaison for financial grant issues including budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Manage grant draws and financial grant reporting.
  • May provide support with other grant-related activities as needed.
  • Manage Grants Management and Compliance team.
  • Stay up to date on relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to grant compliance. Interpret and communicate these requirements to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or 5-7 years direct work experience in lieu of a degree is required.
  • 3-7 years of experience in grant management including federal grants is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with 2 CFR 200 and federal grants requirements is required.
  • Experience working in a CDFI or nonprofit environment is desired.
  • Advanced digital literacy and ability to navigate workplace technology including Microsoft office suite, administrative and grant management software, databases, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage complex and highly confidential information exercising initiative and sound judgment/decision-making with a solution-oriented focus.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, within tight deadlines in a clear, level-headed manner; ability to turn work around within a short period of time where demands are liable to change quickly effectively, and efficiently.
  • Ability to work well and collaboratively with diverse constituents and interface with employees at all levels of the organization, OFN Members, OFN investors, and funders is required. Comfortable working autonomously and across multiple tasks and reporting to different project working teams.
  • Position involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
  • Minimal travel required (<5% of time).
